Left my car for service at 9 am, I said I need to get it done before 5 pm, I asked several times can you do that? They confirmed each time, it will be ready before 5 pm. when I got there at 5 pm, they made me wait until 5:35 pm. I didn't observe a proper apology or effort for that. I felt uncomfortable. Also, I am not satisfied with the prices, there wasn't a good explanation about the work done.

First time two years ago RT did a great job of fixing my car (valley seals on inlet manifold Vy commodore.)
Today RT checked my car (Ranger) over and sorted out some issues and got me on the road again without any fuss.
    Thanks again RT.

The warranty of my Nissan Xtrail 2015 ended last year. It had been serviced with Nissan dealerships since bought new. This year, I brought the car to Rapid Tune Mitcham on 16 Feb 2022 for 80k service thinking I could save a bit of $ and time there.

Rapid Tune replaced the following parts:
    - Cabin filter
    - Air filter
    - Windscreen wipers front and rear
All the above totaled around $400. Not cheap but ok.

All brake pads & rotors were replaced at over $1100. Rapid Tune advised that because the brake pads were too worn, they damaged the rotors. I was quite busy that date so I agreed without checking with other mechanics.

    My experiences:
Please understand that I am OCD so can notice very small changes in the behavior of the car.

    1. The brakes
After taking the car home, I immediately noticed that the brakes felt very slippery.
I called RT and was told to bring the car back. RT tested the car the next day and advised that the brakes needed "bedding in" and would get better in a few weeks. They did not tell me that when I received the car the first time.

Now, after one month, the brakes improve a lot. However, the feel is still not as good as the original Nissan installed ones.

    2. The windscreen wipers
The newly installed wipers were very noisy and did not clean well.
    Obviously, very bad the quality.
I intended to replace these cheap ones asap.

This made me think about the quality of the brakes and rotors :(

    3. Broken clips of the engine air intake hose
After the service, including air filter replacement, at RT, I heard an annoying vibrating/resonant noise in the cabin at certain speeds, around 40-60km/h especially uphill.

I endured the noise for exactly one month. This afternoon, my patience worn out. I opened the hood, inspected the engine air intake, leading to the air filter box and found out that some clips that secure the plastic air intake were damaged. The plastic parts, not securely fixed, rubbed each other creating the noise.

The damages seem to be caused by sharp objects. I guess some guys, who were not familiar with this car, used screw drivers to force open the air intake. I attached some pictures of the damaged engine air intake.

    4. Dash cam unplugged
My dash cam was unplugged from the usb power supply cable.
This was also mentioned in some previous reviews.
What they don't want to you to see?

    5. Bad smell
After the service, there was a very bad smell like old engine oil lingering in the car. It is still there one month after.

You can see, I had a terrible experience with Rapid Tune Mitcham. I now need to spend more $ and time to fix the issues created by them: new windscreen wipers, a new engine intake hose and probably another check at Nissan.

Bloody butchered my engine. A job they said would take a week took almost 2months. Promised me a loan car took weeks to get!!! Give me the car back then had more problems as in stuffed up more parts of the engine then waited weeks again to get it back cause couldn't get parts. 12months later turbo seal was leaking from there work. Take it too another mechanic to tell me the problem and tells me bolts sheered over tightened. Bloody never going back. For a $4500 job here. Never again!!!!
